Welcome to our crafting community. We have a frequently changing list of Knit-a-Longs (KALs), currently featuring cozy projects which will keep you warm even as you knit them. Join in at any time, and feel free to suggest a project you think would make a fun community knit.
Whether you have been knitting or sewing for years, have never picked up a needle, or are returning to a craft after an extended hiatus, we would love to have you take a class or help you with a project. Learn to Knit classes meet on Saturday mornings, and we have recently added a Thursday afternoon option. Toe-Up Sock classes have been a sensation. Sewers can make a quilt, an apron, or a zippered pouch. We even have a sewing class for kids.
If you are looking for some crafty, social relaxation, Fridays are our Open Knit (and Crochet) nights. Movie Night happens one Thursday a month, and Book Club usually meets on the second Tuesday of the month.
We are starting a slipper basket. Knit a pair of Simple House Slippers out of Rowan Felted Tweed Aran or Debbie Bliss Donegal Aran. You can use one color, color block with two colors, or opt for stripes with as many colors as you like. Leave them at Twill, and when you arrive for a relaxing knitting session on the couch, you can slip out of heavy winter boots and into cozy slippers.
Located downtown in the historic Nelson Building at 100 Main Street in Nashua, Twill Fabric & Yarn is a specialty retail store and creative teaching / studio space. Twill offers a warm atmosphere in a beautiful space full of judgment-free enthusiasm for sewing, knitting, crochet, embroidery, felting, and spinning.
We feature yarns from Ella Rae, Noro, Madelinetosh, Zen Garden (a Canadian company with gorgeous vibrant handpaints), Debbie Bliss, Louisa Harding, Malabrigo, Rowan, a line of cashmere from Mongolia, and periodic shipments from local dyers. Sonder is our line of in-house hand-dyed yarn. Our stock changes frequently, so we encourage you to call or stop by to find out about the latest arrivals.
Our gorgeous specialty fabrics include linen blends, cotton flannels and contemporary quilting/home dec. cottons from companies such as Art Gallery, Westminster Fibers, Alexander Henry, Robert Kaufman. We have recently added jersey knit and a few other garment fabrics to our collection.
